Legal Cannabis (CBD Flowers with Up to 1% THC): Safe and Effective

Thanks to legislative changes (in the Czech Republic since 2022), it is legal to cultivate and process industrial hemp with a THC content of up to 1%.
Such hemp contains primarily cannabidiol (CBD), which has anti-inflammatory, calming, and regenerative effects – without any psychoactive effect.

What Do Hemp Flowers Contain?

  • CBD (cannabidiol) – supports skin regeneration, reduces inflammation, and has pain-relieving effects.

  • Terpenes (e.g., myrcene, caryophyllene, linalool) – aromatic compounds with relaxing and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Flavonoids – antioxidants that support skin cell renewal.

Uses of CBD Flowers in Home Preparation

1. Hemp Salve with CBD Flowers

A salve is an ideal form for using the flowers – the active compounds are extracted into fat, enhancing efficacy and shelf life.

Recipe (simplified):

  • 10–15 g dried CBD flowers

  • 250 ml coconut or olive oil

  • 30 g beeswax

Procedure:

  • Gently crumble the flowers and extract into oil with slow heating (up to 60 °C) for 2–3 hours, or macerate for 2–3 weeks.

  • Strain.

  • Add wax, melt, pour into jars, and let solidify.

Use: For eczema, acne, sore joints, dry skin, burns, or tattoos.

2. Hemp Butter (CBD Balm)

Similar to a salve, but more moisturizing – usually contains shea butter or cocoa butter.

Use: For daily skin care, inflammation, redness, or as a relaxing bedtime balm (e.g., with added lavender).

3. Hemp Oil (Oil Extract from Flowers)

Can be prepared as a standalone regenerative oil or as a base for other products.

Tip: A combination of CBD flowers and lavender in almond oil = excellent massage oil for stress relief and insomnia.

4. Tincture from Hemp Flowers (Alcohol Extract)

This form contains the highest concentration of active compounds, perfect for drops or external use (e.g., as an additive to creams).

Tip: If preparing at home, use strong alcohol (e.g., 60–80%) and macerate the flowers for at least 3 weeks.

5. Hemp Infusion or Decoction

Yes – even tea from CBD flowers has its place.

  • Infusion (10 min covered): a gentle calming tea.

  • Decoction: stronger but less common; can be used in baths or facial waters.

Note: Cannabinoids do not dissolve well in water – for maximum effect, oil or alcohol-based forms are preferable.

Is It Legal?

Yes – if you process certified hemp with a THC content of up to 1% intended for industrial or cosmetic use, it is completely legal.
